Using TapeSave with ChatGPT or Claude
TapeSave has a connector for ChatGPT and Claude. It lets the assistant give you a private upload link, and later tell you when your clips are ready and what is on each one.
What it does
- Ask the assistant to organize a home video with TapeSave. It gives you a private upload link in the chat.
- Open the link and upload your video on tapesave.com.
- Go back to the chat and ask the assistant to check on it.
- When your clips are ready, the assistant tells you each clip's date and caption. The link to watch them arrives by email.
What you need
- A digitized video file: MP4, MOV, AVI or MKV, up to 10 GB.
- An email address, which you enter on tapesave.com when you upload.
- You do not need a TapeSave account, and there is no sign-in inside the assistant.
Limits
- Each upload is a sample. It covers the first 10 minutes of one video, in up to 3 clips.
- It cannot digitize physical tapes. Your video has to be a file already.
- It cannot fetch videos from links or other websites. You upload the file yourself.
- It cannot identify people. Captions describe what is on screen, nothing more.
How long your clips are kept
Files are scheduled for deletion 30 days after your clips are delivered — or 30 days after the last time a clip is shared, whichever is later — and sooner on request. We recommend downloading your clips as soon as they are ready.
If something goes wrong
- The assistant says it is "waiting for upload." The upload may not have finished, so keep the page open until it does. Also check that you opened the private link from your chat. If you go to tapesave.com without that link, the assistant cannot tell which upload is yours.
- The link has expired. Ask the assistant for a new link.
- Anything else. Email [email protected] and tell us what you were doing and what you saw.
