DMCA / Copyright Policy

We respect your rights

TapeSave respects intellectual property rights and expects our users to do the same. Our service is designed for families to organize their own home videos — not to copy, distribute, or host content that belongs to someone else.

Only upload what you own

When you use TapeSave, you confirm that you own the content you're uploading or have the legal right to use it. Home videos of your family? That's what we're here for. Copyrighted movies, TV shows, or someone else's content? Please don't upload those.

Submitting a DMCA takedown notice

If you believe that content on TapeSave infringes your copyright, you can send us a takedown notice. Please email help@tapesave.com with the following information:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The URL or location of the material you want removed.
  • Your contact information — name, email address, and phone number so we can reach you.
  • A statement of good faith — that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement of accuracy — that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Your signature — a physical or electronic signature.

We'll review your notice promptly and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content in question.

Counter-notification

If your content was removed and you believe it was taken down by mistake or that you have the right to use it, you can send us a counter-notification. Email help@tapesave.com and include:

  • A description of the material that was removed and where it appeared.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and phone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original takedown notice.
  • Your signature (physical or electronic).

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed content after 10 business days unless the original complainant notifies us of a court action.

Repeat infringer policy

We take copyright seriously. Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing content will be suspended or terminated. We don't want to do this — TapeSave is built for families preserving their own memories — but we will act when necessary to protect the rights of others.
