The short version
We built TapeSave for families who want to preserve their memories. We treat your videos and personal information with the same care you would. We collect only what we need, we never share your content, and we delete your files automatically after 30 days.
What we collect
- Email address — so we can send you a link to your processed clips and reach you if something goes wrong.
- Uploaded video files — the tapes you send us for processing. These are stored securely on our servers while we work on them.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number.
How we use your videos
Your videos are processed by our automated pipeline to detect scenes, recover dates, and generate descriptions. Once processing is complete, your clips are available for download.
We never share your videos with anyone.Your content is yours alone. We don't use it for training, marketing, or any other purpose.
Video file retention
All uploaded videos and processed clips are automatically deleted after 30 days. This happens automatically — no action needed on your part. We recommend downloading your clips as soon as they're ready.
Payments
All payments are processed through Stripe, the same payment system used by Amazon, Google, and millions of other businesses. We never see, handle, or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
AI processing
We use AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate descriptions of your video clips. The AI processes your video content to create helpful descriptions but does not retain any of your data after processing is complete. No video content is used to train AI models.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use tracking cookies. We don't use third-party analytics like Google Analytics. We don't track you across the web. We may use essential cookies to keep the site working (like remembering your session), but that's it.
